+ Friday Freebies

I swear I'm adding a new 'series' to my blog every single day, but it's a great way to motivate me to keep looking for great things to post! So, for the first ever Friday Freebies post, I am going to showcase some lovely music, buttons, themes and desktop wallpapers from across the web that are great for your sites and general purpose use.

Desktop Wallpapers

I'm always on the hunt for a brand spanking new desktop wallpaper to brighten up my laptop in the hope that it will simultaneously brighten up my own mood! Pixel Girl Presents has been a fave of mine for years, so here's an idea of what they offer:

Blog Themes

If you're a Wordpress kind of blogger, then chances are you are constantly on the lookout for new themes for your blog. Here are some favourites of mine:

This well-designed and cherry Wordpress theme, from Grab a Theme is easy to set up and is FREE!

Smashing Magazine also has a great article featuring 100 'Excellent Free Wordpress Themes'.

Save the icon of your choice and either upload directly to your own server, or, right-click and "copy link location". Insert it into the code below and copy and paste onto your homepage.

I am planning to make a range of Bloglovin icons for fellow bloggers out there. So far I've only made one, but more to come I promise!

I don't think there's many people right now who HAVEN'T seen this video, but just in case, enjoy! Although I view Lady Gaga as a very cleverly marketed popstar, there's no doubt that the designers around her are leaving the rest of the music world miles behind. This video features thoseAlexander McQueen shoes, and a very eery finishing scene involving a skeleton....!

Yes, I always always always blog about The XX when it comes to music, but it's only because I love them so much and don't want anyone to miss out! Download my favourite song of their, islands by CLICKING HERE.

+ Fave Fashion Bloggers

There's a growing number of fashion bloggers who, armed with little more than a camera and a blog, have managed to gain worldwide recognition for their sense of style and personality. What they all have in common is a seemingly endless amount of money to purchase Chloé, Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, much to the envy of their readers!

So, my three favourites at the moment are Rumi from FashionToast, Karla from Karla's Closet and Alix from the Cherry Blossom Girl.

I'd love to find some fashion bloggers who are just normal girls with an average income, making the most of high street brands and online purchases. LookBook offers a wide spectrum of style bloggers, some who are young and playing around in their bedroom, and others who are budding models/photographers/fashion editors!

If you are or know of any inspirational style bloggers, let me know in the comments :)

+ Blog Buzz #1

Every week (or when I can!) I'm going to feature blogs and other internet-finds from the week. By sharing attention-grabbing stuff from other sites I hope I can keep some kind of check on the megabytes of information I read each week, and hopefully try and harness the best to share with others!

The Independent examine how Cheryl Cole's marketing company orchestrated an online campaign to help Fight for this Love become the fastest-selling UK single of 2009 so far:

You drill your marketing through the ears listening at that moment in time to the music. They're sinking the drill into the deep well and sucking up the crude while it's where it is."

Say hi to Amber, the creator of some truly unique headbands that are so beautiful it won't matter what you wear with them!

I can't stand hipsters who wear fake glasses. For me, someone looks better when they're wearing real ones in a, you know, unpretentious way. French style blogger Pandora shows the rest of us how it's done.

Over at List Addicts, the Naked Redhead reveals five things she hated as a kid that she now loves.
